CTLxNDPI Political Dissonance in Public Service
As graduation looms large, many of us will go on to begin or continue careers in public service. What happens when your public servant role conflicts with your personal beliefs, cultural values, or political views?
Join the National Defense Policy Initiative and Conflict Transformation Lab as we navigate this question. We will hear from high ranking officials, field experts, and former candidates (to be revealed at the event), and have the opportunity to explore your thoughts and opinions on this prescient topic.
After a brief introduction by our three guest speakers, we will split into three groups and discuss each of the following topics:
-The evolving role of identity in military service
-Integrating personal values in public service
-How to respond to unethical/immoral/illegal orders or policies
