Please join us for an intimate conversation with Krystin Borgognone, the US-Mexico Security Cooperation Coordinator in the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs.

Krystin Borgognone is the U.S.-Mexico Security Cooperation Coordinator in the Office of Mexico in the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs. Prior to her role in WHA, Krystin was the Deputy Division Chief of Global Programs at the Secretary’s Office of Global Women’s Issues for four years. Krystin previously worked in INL for 12 years including as the Team Lead for North Africa and the Sahel and in support of initiatives such as Plan Colombia; the Merida Initiative; U.S. re-engagement with Burma; Afghanistan and Pakistan; and the Central American Regional Security Initiative. Krystin is also a Government Career Coach at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, Horizon Public Service Institute, and GovAI, advising students from diverse personal and professional backgrounds on navigating the public sector workforce. Krystin is from New York City, married to Joe Foltz, and has four (!) children; she graduated with a B.A. in Conflict and Security from George Washington University and a Master’s in Security and Military Studies from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. Krystin enjoys being outside, traveling, cooking, musical theater and is attempting to write her first novel with StoryStudio Chicago!
