Priyasha is a second year Masters in Public Policy student at the McCourt School of Public Policy. She completed her graduation in Commerce from Delhi University in 2016. She has work experience across the policy space ranging from NGOs, think-tanks to academia. As a legislative assistant to a Member of Parliament (MP), she drafted private member legislations and prepared parliamentary interventions to assist her MP in engaging in constructive debates. She has extensive research experience in the education space in India. As part of the core team that publishes the Annual Status of Education Report (ASER), she led a team to conduct three large scale data collection exercises in India – ASER 2018 and 2019 (field based) and ASER 2020 (phone based). ASER is a large-scale annual data collection exercise that creates evidence on children’s schooling status and learning levels in rural India. She also led the design of the first-ever assessment to test social and emotional learning of young children in the age group of 4-8 years. The tool was used to assess more than 35,000 children across 24 Indian states and in 14 languages. A food enthusiast, she always makes sure she has visited the good eateries around her.
