Ricardo Smith Nieves

Ricardo is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in International Development Policy at the McCourt School of Public Policy. Previously, as a strategic communications and public affairs consultant in Mexico City, he combined his passion for domestic and international politics with his communication expertise to help businesses and NGOs craft effective engagement strategies and strengthen their relationships with the public and government authorities.
In his role as a policy advisor and staffer to a former President of Mexico, Ricardo participated in international climate conferences, gaining firsthand experience with the challenges of reaching compromise and fostering collaborative solutions to combat global climate change.
Ricardo’s passion for international affairs and diplomacy has opened opportunities for him to contribute as a guest analyst for Mexican newspapers, radio, and television, where he shares perspectives on Mexico’s foreign policy and global issues. He is affiliated with the Mexican Council of Foreign Affairs.
