Tea Series: Civil Unrest and The Armed Forces’ Role in Domestic Conflict

Dr. Bradford Wineman is professor of military history at the US Marine Corps Command and Staff College, Marine Corps University in Quantico, Virginia where he joined the faculty in July 2008, serving as War Studies Department head from 2012-2015.  Prior to this position, he has served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Military History, U.S. Army Command and General Staff College (2006-2008) and as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of History at the Virginia Military Institute (2003-2006). 

 He received his B.A. in History from the Virginia Military Institute and earned his M.A. and PhD (from Texas A&M University). His other teaching duties currently include the Georgetown University Security Studies Program and the Elliot School of International Affairs at George Washington University where he offers courses in civil-military relations and strategy & policy.  He is also an instructor for the USMC Command & Staff Distance Education Course (CDET) and teaches courses for the USMC Staff NCO Academy (SNCOA) and Senior Enlisted Professional Military Education (SEPME).  Dr. Wineman has also served as an enlisted reservist in the United States Marine Corps Reserves for the past 22 years with deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, and is presently assigned to Talent Management & Oversight Office (TMOD). He has published various works on the relationship between the military and civilian society.
